Goals of the NPhA National President (Dr. Sharon Early):

1. To appoint Regional Clinical Liaisons: to address and increase awareness surrounding: Diabetes, Asthma, HIV/AIDS, Geriatric population, Immunizations, health disparities and health literacy

2. Increase Visibility of NPhA: Web site and Linked In presence

3. Continue to provide a forum for the Bridging the Gap Mentorship Program:

4. Develop a Council of Deans (whose charge will be to advise us on changes in the academia arena) and an Advisory Committee: that consist of our corporate sponsors and students to assist NPhA in identifying needs of the community, and assist in developing the infrastructure to enhance resources needed to support our mission, vision and goals.

5. Increase Membership: First thru the transition of SNPHA members to NPhA, Second: corporate and industry involvement, Third: recruitment and retention efforts.

6. Create a Legislative Advocacy committee: which will keep the membership abreast of current issues and enhance our visibility by making public our position on President Obama's new healthcare initiative and key healthcare issues that impact minority communities.

7. Develop Leadership programs for membership:
Providing guidance to students seeking acceptance to Fellowship Programs nationally, Develop Residency programs with retail companies, Increase Corporate internships, Focus on Geriatric healthcare issues, On-going financial planning workshops for NPhA and SNPhA members, Develop Leadership certificate programs, Providing guidance for those seeking advanced degrees and/or certifications

My ultimate goal is to strive to make a difference. To enhance the momentum initiated byPast Presidents, and to take the organization to even higher heights. I pledge to continue the legacy of Dean Chauncey I Cooper and I stand COMMITTED to work in a spirit of excellence to strive for and achieve excellence.

Subsidiaries

National Pharmaceutical Association Foundation

As NPhA's official gift receiving organization, the NPhAF receives, manages, and distributes funds to assist the Student National Pharmaceutical Association and support the activities of NPhA.

The NPhAF is a private, nonprofit organization. This is advantageous of the NPhA and its contributors in that this offers investment flexibility and separation of public and private support.

Student National Pharmaceutical Association

The Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) was founded in 1972 as the student affiliate of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA). SNPhA is an education and service association of students concerned about pharmacy services, professional development, and the lack of minority representation in pharmacy and other health related professions.
